About Us

The Allegan County Food Pantry (ACFP for short) is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization that was founded in 1991 by the Allegan Ministerium. We have held a few different names at a few different locations throughout the city of Allegan. Currently we have an amazing home located in the basement level of First Church of God loated at 1313 Lincoln Road (M89).

The mission of our board, staff members, and volunteers is to provide resources to those in Allegan County who need help supplying food for their households. We are here to feed the hungry and make a difference in our community, one person at a time. Our food pantry is currently open 3 days a week and also offers a few other services. Head over to our “Services” page to see all of our current offerings!

The ACFP is governed by a board of directors made up of community members who meet monthly.  Our board members have a wide range of expertise and bring something unique to every meeting. Our monthly meetings happen on the third Tuesday of every month; where we discuss day-to-day operations, plan fundraising events, and explore how to grow the pantry and help even more people in our community. Our board is always welcoming new members! If you are interested in joining a meeting, learning more about what we do, or wish to join the board, please head over to the donate page and fill out the form!

Once a year, we host our annual meeting where we elect board officials, create a yearly budget and goals. This meeting always takes place at the pantry and we encourage all community members to join us to see what we’re all about! Please stay tuned for a date and time.

Our Team

Alex Wilkening, Executive Director

Alex brings compassion, grace and understanding to the pantry with a deep desire to help others and show them that they have value and purpose, no matter their circumstances. Through a systematic and fundamental change, the Allegan County Food Pantry is working to be an inclusive and self guided experience for all those struggling with food insecurity in Allegan County.

Our Volunteers

We are blessed to have so many volunteers at the pantry!

Some volunteer on a weekly basis, some for special occasions and fundraisers.

We couldn’t do what we do without them!
